*More About Brian Mcloud*

My practice is forged in the therapeutic relationship. As humans, I believe we each have our own unique intelligences and strengths that nurture our inner capacity for healing and well-being. I offer a presence to help deepen this capacity at your pace, while integrating approaches to create more room for your nervous system to find coherence and flow.

*What to Expect From Our Work Together*

I often work with people in transition related to their relationships, identities, careers, or values. This can look like navigating personal freedom and closeness in relationships, healing from early emotional abandonment, betrayal, or ruptures from caregivers, experiencing somatic symptoms, such as, but not limited to, freeze, numbness, chronic tension, disembodiment, or struggling to find belonging in environments that don't reflect your values. I find myself working with people whose intention is learning to be in connection during discomfort. In the therapy space, we will create an intentional and relational space to slow things down in the here and now and connect with your nervous system, body, and whole self as it is. With training in Somatic Experiencing and EMDR, I integrate these approaches to work with the mind-body-soul connection.

*What you Need to Know About Me*

I grew up in Salt Lake City, UT and have lived in San Diego and Oakland, CA before landing here in Phoenix, AZ. I have experience in community and collegiate mental health settings addressing complex issues related to identity, sexual and developmental trauma, and high performance athletes. Before practicing as a therapist, I taught Pre-K to high school physical education and wellness, and prior to that I was a wildland firefighter. I would say that nature is my greatest teacher, what’s yours?
